‘The perfect marriage of graceful lines and intricate detailing…’
Baby Olinda Mixed Briar Roses not only showcases the intricately designed ‘Briar Roses’ corded lace but also the exceptional skill that Phillipa and her team has used to bring two different scales of lace together seamlessly across the bodice and the skirt to make a truly enchanting work of art. Every detail of this wedding dress has been closely considered to create a feminine, romantic gown.
To create the effect of the roses growing in size down the body, Phillipa and her expert atelier team painstakingly selected and positioned each flower at the neckline and bodice onto the Briar Rose lace to ensure the perfect shape following the cut of the dress, before carefully hand-stitching them into place. Delicate, sheer lace cap sleeves with an undulating scalloped edge finish the dress beautifully, giving it a soft, feminine look.
Phillipa has given the wedding dress a gorgeous, grand feel by placing this masterpiece of lace work over an ivory duchess satin dress with a sweeping skirt and scooped décolleté neckline. The A-line shape of the dress creates an elegance that is complemented by the delicate florals on the lace and the scalloped hem and neckline. To complete this majestic silhouette, the dress has been designed with a two-metre long train. And, as with most of Phillipa Lepley’s couture wedding dresses, the structured satin bodice includes her iconic hidden corset.
Phillipa says, “This is the perfect marriage of graceful lines and intricate detailing to create something whimsical and magical. The most special aspect of this dress for me has to be the Briar Roses in the skirt which are completely unique in their composition.”
Phillipa Lepley is widely recognised as being the leading British couture wedding dress designer. Her wedding dress shop in London, Chelsea, has over 50 dresses all of which have been made in England from start to finish at her atelier.
