COUTURE EVENING GOWN: BEADED BLACK TAMSIN

“The most wonderful and awe inspiring evening gown.”

This gorgeously glamorous beaded evening gown from Phillipa Lepley’s couture evening wear collection is an example of couture dressmaking at its absolute finest, showcasing just how  Phillipa and her atelier are at masters of these complex techniques.

The shape of the ‘Beaded Black Tamsin’ evening gown is simple, romantic and feminine. Delicate strands of black bugle beads are hand-sewn on to a black, French lace and then laid over a luxurious lemon-coloured duchess satin. The beading cascades all the way down the dress, creating drama and sparkle in the gown.

The form skimming skirt is designed to complement and balance the scooped lace neckline and on-the-edge-of-shoulder straps. The silks gently fall to a fuller volume at the base, held with tulle petticoats, and are complemented by the exquisite shape of the corseted beaded bodice.

The use of the glass cane bugle beads really adds another dimension to this stunning evening dress, giving it a decadent glistening finish. When paired with the lace, the beading creates such depth to the fabric and gives wonderful movement as the fabric and embellishment cascade down the body.

This dress is the perfect evening gown to be worn at any black-tie event where one will without a doubt stand out from the crown. The creation of an evening dress such as this demands such incredible attention to detail; Phillipa has created a timeless pairing of fabrics are set to withstand the test of time and trends.

Phillipa says, “The combination of beading and lace layered over sumptuous duchess satin really creates the ‘wow’ factor that our clients look for.”
