Brides wishing to make a true style statement with their wedding dress without breaking with tradition will fall in love with the ‘Toulouse Japanese Anemone’ wedding dress. Adorned with flowers in peach, taupe and green, it provides the perfect solution with a soft touch of colour.
Underneath, a white fine silk strapless bodice with an internal corset forms the perfect figure-enhancing base. The soft sweep neckline is simple and understated, with an attractive low V at the back. From a gathered waist, a voluminous skirt descends to the ground, made from a combination of layers of ivory and white tulle, with an 85’’ train.
The pièce de résistance is the beautiful overlay. Made with white tulle, it has been delicately hand-embroidered & beaded with a linear peach, taupe & green floral design of Japanese Anemone, symbolising sincerity due to their delicate appearance.
The ‘Dahlia Flower Garden’ silk tulle top, is also adorned with hand-sewn organza Dahlias, three-dimensional Lily of the Valley flower heads and tiny ivory glazed metallic Forget-Me-Nots. With elegant full-length tulle sleeves and a keyhole opening at the back, it is fastened at the nape of the neck and with a button & loop closure at the wrist.
As with all Phillipa Lepley couture wedding dresses, the embroidery can be specifically developed and placed in a bespoke way for each bride, with more or less colour and specific shapes being altered to create the perfect picture.
Phillipa says, “The ‘Toulouse Japanese Anemone’ dress is a completely feminine embroidered dress, that is a little different! I love the way the layers of frothy white and ivory tulle in the skirt give it such a sense of light movement, seemingly making it effortlessly float and dance about.”
“The amount of work that goes in to each and every petal on every flower in a bespoke embroidered dress like this is really quite incredible.”
“I love the juxtaposition of textures and colours. The crisp white satin is so clean and innocent, and the anemone picture pops to life placed over the top. We have used a straight stitch in classic anchor threads which can be seen around clusters of pearls. It really works rather beautifully, and it has been so well received. It is a soft swirly dancing dress, full of romance and dreams.”
