“Fitzgerald Tiered Scroll’ perfectly embodies the opulence and glamour of the 1920s Gatsby era”
‘Fitzgerald Tiered Scroll’ is a fluid slipper satin dress with a fine French corded lace overlay. The cleverly cut, tiered skirt, embroidered scalloped neckline and cap sleeves comprise of many delicately hand-stitched layers of lace skilfully manipulated and appliquéd seamlessly by our atelier team to complement the striking and intricate scroll motifs in the lace. When paired with the elegant bias-cut silk base, the result is an incredibly soft and feminine silhouette.
To give a truly dramatic and striking low back neckline, this dress has been created without Phillipa Lepley’s signature corset. Instead, this dress uses clever seam and lace placement to accentuate the bride’s waist, further enhanced by the strong V front and plunging low back necklines. The sheer lace back panels and cap sleeves balance this to give the dress an elegant and modest finish.
The soft, non-corseted structure of this dress allows for graceful fluidity in the design, perfectly mirrored in the layers of flowing lace of the tiered skirt. The sheer back panels of the bodice add a modern touch to the vintage style of the dress, while the long train provides just enough length to add to the statement back, without distracting from the intricacies of the tiered skirt, low back neckline and French ‘scroll’ lace.
Phillipa says, “The Fitzgerald Tiered Scroll dress showcases delicate layering of the most exquisite scroll lace, which has been further harmonised with a bias-cut slipper satin body. The intricacy of the scroll pattern that has been hand-stitched is most definitely the piece de la resistance of this beautiful gown. The dress perfectly embodies the opulence and glamour of the 1920s Gatsby era.”
