Phillipa Lepley is renowned for her bespoke approach to bridal wear, and that doesn’t stop at the dress… Brides can work closely with our design team to create a veil especially for them incorporating personal details such as their new initials or their wedding date monogrammed onto the silk tulle.

To create a monogrammed veil, a member of our team will first discuss with the bride the detail she would like to include, as well as the scale and placement for the embroidery. Our Atelier Team will then create a personalised artwork for the client to see and approve.

From there, the monogram is prepared in our Chelsea studio for one of our expertly trained Phillipa Lepley seamstresses to embroider.

First, the artwork is transferred using specialist materials to its base silk organza and pinned to the veil in the agreed position.

The silk organza letters are then embroidered directly onto the silk tulle using a complimenting shade of ivory thread, before the excess organza is carefully trimmed away to reveal the finished lettering.

Brides may opt to have a very discreet monogram, a secret or personal inscription that only the seamstress and the bride herself knows is there, or they may choose a much more prominent monogram feature that is central to the whole design of the dress and wedding day.

Bespoke veils perfectly exemplify everything that Phillipa Lepley represents – artisanal luxury, exquisite craftsmanship and impeccable detail. They complete a bride’s look, ensuring it is treasured forever as an invaluable keepsake and heirloom piece.

At Phillipa Lepley anything is possible. The shop consultants and atelier teams work closely to create the perfect dress and the perfect veil, designed for the individual.
