Real Bride: Josceline’s Winter Wedding Dress

For her enchanting winter wedding, Josceline was surrounded by jewelled tones of ruby and emerald and twinkling white fairy lights. She brought her own personal style to her wedding look, with bespoke detachable sleeves on her dress and a burst of deep, crimson red with her manicure.

Josceline’s custom Phillipa Lepley couture wedding dress is a wonderful example of the skill and ingenuity of Phillipa Lepley and her team – creating two equally magical bridal looks within one exquisite dress.

The fabric choice for Josceline’s wedding dress was elegantly soft and fluid. Cut in ivory silk crepe, the soft A-line shape of the skirt gently skimmed over Josceline’s hips before descending to undulating folds of fabric at the hem. With no petticoats within the skirt, the beautiful rippling movement of the silk crepe was fully displayed; the overall look soft and feminine.

Phillipa Lepley is known for her impeccably crafted corsetry. Josceline’s corset, skilfully hidden beneath the silk of the dress, was moulded and fitted to her body through her fittings, enhancing her silhouette and defining her waist.

Graceful and refined in its design, the dress was crowned with a sumptuous, dramatic off-the-shoulder collar in the finest Italian duchess satin. Wrapping around Josceline’s shoulders, its proportions were precisely set with her through her fittings to perfectly balance the overall form of the dress.

Within the collar, the Phillipa Lepley team created detachable sleeves, allowing Josceline to have two completely different looks from day to evening.

For the day, full length silk crepe sleeves provided an elegant and demure look for her church ceremony. The fitted sleeves were delicately finished with small silk covered buttons at the wrist.

For the evening, the sleeves – held in place securely with discreet hidden fixtures – could be removed to create a fresh, more relaxed and light look.

Phillipa loves any bridal look to be finished with a veil, and Josceline’s two tier silk tulle veil was made with the finest, most delicate tulle. With a clean cut edge, the airy tulle floated around Josceline, framing her and her dress beautifully at her winter wedding.
