REAL BRIDE: EMMA'S TIMELESS DRESS IN ART DECO SURROUNDINGS
“The dress was utter perfection! From start to finish both me and my mother loved every bit of the process and were bowled over by the outstanding service the Phillipa Lepley Team delivered. People are still talking about the dress over two months later!”
The chic simplicity and sharp silhouette of Emma’s couture Phillipa Lepley wedding dress made it the perfect choice for the iconic and grand Art Deco surroundings of the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
Her custom duchess satin dress featured an off-the-shoulder wide collar, slim inverted tulip shape skirt and sweeping long train.
The crisp ‘knife pleats’ at the waist created an inverted tulip shape over the hips, before narrowing to a slim fitted column skirt. The accentuated shaping of these pleats further enhanced the defined waist shaping from the Phillipa Lepley corset built within. The lines of Emma’s dress were refined to the millimetre on her.
This Phillipa Lepley design is a structural, almost architectural piece that plays with angles, proportion and balance to culminate in a timeless gown with a modern twist.
Although slim fitted, this dress retains all of its bridal magic with the incredible, sweeping long train that extends from the narrow skirt. Metres of billowing duchess satin flow from the dress, ensuring that it is captivating from every angle.
For Emma, the depth and position of the collar were key – she loved the drama of the wide collar, and the exact positioning was set with her through her fittings so that it perfectly complimented her collar bones and just cupped her shoulders.
The level of precision and detail that the Phillipa Lepley team work to with each and every client ensures that every special element is looked after and perfected, bringing each bride’s dream dress to life.
Phillipa Lepley is widely recognised as being the leading British couture wedding dress designer. Her wedding dress shop in London, Chelsea, has over 50 dresses, all of which have been made in England from start to finish at her atelier.
